It is with great sadness we announce the death of Olivia on November 23, 2013. Born on February 15, 1994, Olivia was the beautiful daughter of Sonja Banks and Andrew Sandy Robertson. Olivia will be missed by her family in a way that words cannot describe.

She is remembered by her grandparents, many aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. The community she had become a part of at UBC gave her great joy and will share in her family’s grief as will Trinity College School and her home town of Collingwood, Ontario. She made her family very proud of her ever increasing accomplishments. The world lost a young woman who was poised to live a dynamic life. Smart and vivacious she was looking to use her talents and passion as a United Nations ambassador.

A celebration of her life will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Collingwood, Ontario on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow at Osler Bluff Ski Club. A private burial will follow.

We thank everyone for the tremendous outpouring of support. In honour of Olivia’s life, a memorial bursary for arts students at UBC is being established in her name.

This is a fitting tribute to Olivia, who was known for being smart and ambitious, as well as caring, generous and deeply invested in the future well-being of the world.

Your gift will help to create a lasting legacy to Olivia, and will support arts students in financial need as they pursue their own dreams and ambitions for a better world.

When the fund reaches $30,000, the award will be endowed, allowing it to be awarded in perpetuity.
